Influence of social media.
Two observations on existence and self. René Descartes' 17th-century proposition "I think, therefore I am" positioned rational thought as the essential proof of being. Barbara Kruger's 1987 work "I shop therefore I am" reframed this philosophy through consumerism, critiquing capitalist tendencies that define value and agency.
"I post therefore I am" renovates these observations in a digital age, where existence is increasingly affirmed through acts of online visibility. Self, once rooted in introspection and later in consumption, now depends on continuous public self-performance within digital economies of attention.
